Looking Back...

Already coming to 2 months into the JMB (after taking over from the developer) and looking back, realised that:-

this is a voluntary job but,
- you can be sued
- people swearing at you for "no water", "no electricity", "dirty swimming pool"
"lift breakdowns", "no Astro" blah, blah , blah
- blaming you for their stolen bicycles and "Nike" shoes
- Will tell you in the face "maintenance fee bayar tapi service teruk!"
- your friends starting to make you feel "you are no more one of them"
- You will also get use to hearing such phrases as "Why take so long to repair"
"who's fault is it?" "how come the JMB is not doing anything""Do something fast la!"
- you also start to get unfriendly glances while in the lift
- people also thinks that "JMB member sure got privileges one, that's why he/she wants to sit in the committee".
- people talking behind you: "Meeting, meeting and more meetings but nothing new happening, no improvement whattt...!!"
-and so on and so on............

We in the JMB are taking all these in good stride and will continue to do our best collectively. We will do our utmost to be a competent, accountable and transparent team and hope that with every one's support and positive contributions, Idaman Sutera will truly be a pleasant place to stay for all of us.

In view of this, I strongly agree with Mr. Alias's suggestion that the Residents'Association be revived so that another cohesive body is available to hasten the desired changes.

So, anyone out there care to initiate this?!

Dear En Jamal,

So sorry to hear that you have to go through all these. But you see, it seems like you are the only window for us to complain.

There are so many committee members in your team, but we are not too sure what are their roles in this JMB. Maybe you can briefly descrip them in this blog. This might reduce some load of your shoulders.

Dear Lee,
Thanks for yr comment. FYI, during our last JMB meeting we did designate specific member for specific task/portfolio. Shall list out the full portfolio list by end of the week after some fine tuning.

Dear En Jamal,

The setting up the JMB blog site has created awareness to the owners & residents on condo issues and matters. It has been a practice for the owners and residences to complain on condo daily maintenance issues to the JMB.This have started since the Residence Committee have been form.Although we know that the best place to complain is the management office but due to their unavailability after office hours where most of the residence would come back then.So it would be just very convinient to just put our complain to the JMB and it's members.

Maybe you can suggest to the management of Idaman Sutera Condo to also have a blog. Then complains and comments can be directed to them. With these complains and comment the management will have to give the answers to them.By having these the JMB can print their Q & A and put it on the notice board of the condo. They can also provide House Rules,Notices And Condo issues over the blog.

Then we hope in future the residence would be effectively informed on the status of any issues pertaining to the condominum matters and problems.

met up a young lady & a young man in the lift at blk C when i came back.
the young lady was crying.
found out it's a burglary case.

few weeks ago, met a neighbor auntie. she advised me to be careful. her house was almost broken in the other day.luckily her sis pushed the door & disallowed the theft to enter.

fear & anxiety are the only words i could describe when i reach my unit everyday.

folks, how we can stop all these problems?

are the guards suppose to patrol the floors during day time? how frequent?

Some of the measure that can be consider are:
1. Asking the Security Guard to came up with a proper work schedule and a random round check at every block (could be selected floors. I don't think the guard can afford to make a round check at every floor and every blocks).

2. Make a police report and request/allow the police to come into the condo premises and make a round check at least every month.
3. Set-up Residents' Patrol and make a round check once or twice a week.

I think it is high time for us -- the residents, to work together and do some "cleaning up" of our condo rather then looking at things happening with one eye.

Our Property Is Our Responsibility.
